The Beguiled is a 2017 American drama film written and directed by Sofia Coppola, based on the novel The Beguiled (originally published as A Painted Devil) by Thomas P. Cullinan. It stars Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning. A film of the same name, also based on Cullinan's book, was released in 1971.
It was selected to compete for the Palme d'Or in the main competition section at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival, and premiered on May 24, 2017. It is then scheduled to be released in the United States by Focus Features on June 23, 2017.

Sinopse
Proximo do término da Guerra Civil Americana, um cabo ianque é ferido gravemente na perna durante um tiroteio na Louisiana. Recolhido a um internato feminino confederado, sua presença faz com que as mulheres que vivem isoladas ali há varios anos e escondidas da guerra, professoras e alunas, passem a sofrer todo tipo de efeitos, desde o temor do inimigo ou de serem acusadas de traição por acolhê-lo, até fantasias de amor e sexo numa atmosfera de sexualidade reprimida.

In March 2016, it was announced Sofia Coppola would write and direct the film, based upon the novel and 1971 film of the same name, with Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, and Kirsten Dunst joining the cast of the film, while Focus Features will distribute the film.
Coppola will serve as a producer on the film, alongside her elder brother Roman Coppola and Youree Henley, while Fred Roos will serve as an executive producer under their American Zoetrope and FR Productions banners respectively. In July 2016, Colin Farrell joined the cast of the film. In October 2016, Angourie Rice, Oona Laurence, Emma Howard, Addison Riecke also joined the cast. The band Phoenix composed the film's score.

Principal photography began on October 31, 2016, and concluded on December 7, 2016.

The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 24, 2017.It is scheduled to be released on June 23, 2017.
